StoryWalk at the French Art Colony The StoryWalk title for December is Santa’s New Beard by Caroline Crowe with illustrations by Jess Pauwels. StoryWalk is located on the grounds of the French Art Colony, 530 First Avenue. StoryWalk is a great way for both children and adults to enjoy the great outdoors and great children’s books! These passes allow you to enjoy entire collections of streaming content with just one instant borrow. All Bossard Library patrons are encouraged to utilize hoopla to stream movies, television shows, download music, listen to audiobooks, and read comics and eBooks. Each hoopla user can borrow 10 items instantly each month through the app, as well as have five “flex” eBooks or audiobooks checked out on their account at any given time. With BingePasses, you can enjoy an entire collection of hoopla content with just one instant borrow. There are 30 BingePasses available on hoopla with more being frequently added. Some of the more popular BingePasses include Hallmark+, which provides seven days of unlimited access to the Hallmark+ streaming platform. Enjoy holiday Hallmark movies instantly with your library card! Enjoy cooking and baking classes through the “In the Kitchen with Craftsy” BingePass which provides access to 64 episodes led by experts who go beyond the basics of baking and cooking. Or get free lessons for guitar, bass, and ukelele through the “Fret Zealot” pass. There are also numerous BingePasses for children, including the Pokémon and “KidzVidz” BingePasses. To view available passes, go to the BingePass tab or search for “BingePass.” offered at Bossard Library The library now offers a small collection of books written in Spanish (or bilingual books in Spanish and English) for both children and adults. If you are learning to speak Spanish or know someone who speaks the language, these books are a great resource. To search for these Spanish language books at the library, please enter “Spanish language” in the library’s card catalog. Additionally, each Spanish language title in the collection is designated by a yellow “Español” spine label. Spanish language children’s books include: Juanita: La niña que contaba estrellas (The Girl Who Counted the Stars) by Lola Walder with illustrations by Martina Peluso. Diez maneras de escuchar la nieve (Ten Ways to Hear Snow) by Cathy Camper, translated by Rossy Evelin Lima with illustrations by Kenard Pak. Books in Spanish for adults include: Cien años de soledad (One Hundred Years of Solitude) by Gabriel García Márquez. El viento conoce mi nombre (The Wind Knows My Name) by Isabel Allende. In addition, the library offers books about learning to speak Spanish for both children and adults, as well as books on learning to speak English for Spanish speakers.
