‘Game on!’ Game Day Saturday Ages 12 and over (under 12 with an adult) Bring your friends and stop by the library for Game Day. All ages and skill levels are welcome. Children ages 12 and under must be accompanied by an adult. Attendees are welcome to stay for the entire event or play games as time allows. Youth Services Programs Adult Programs Trivia Night Ages 13 and over Trivia Night will be held at the Colony Club, 418 Second Avenue, Gallipolis, in October. Come out and compete to test your knowledge of current events, science, history, pop culture, and more! For more information, contact Lynn at 740.446.7323. In-B-Tween Club Ages 7-9 On Tuesday, October 15, the In-B-Tweens and their parents or caregivers are encouraged to come to the Gallipolis Fire Department, 2018 Chestnut Street, Gallipolis, for a special event. The In-B-Tweens will get to tour the fire station, listen to a presentation from the fire fighters about fire safety, and enjoy snacks and games. In addition, attendees will also enjoy a reading of The Smokey Bear Story from the U.S. Forest Service in honor of Smokey Bear’s 80th birthday. To celebrate, the In-B-Tweens will be encouraged to read five books about fire prevention or the environment. Teen Book Club Ages 13-18 The Teen Book Club will meet at the library for its October meeting before walking to the John Gee Black Historical Center for a tour of the facility and discussion of the book. The featured book is African Town by Irene Latham and Charles Waters. A novel-in-verse, African Town was inspired by true events related to the last slave ship to bring Africans to America in 1860. Ages 3-6 Join us for storytime at the Gallia Academy High School library, 2855 Centenary Road, Gallipolis, featuring stories with the soccer athletes of GAHS. Featured books will include Maisy Plays Soccer by Lucy Cousins, Soccer Beat by Sandra Gilbert Brug with illustrations by Elisabeth Moseng, and Dino-Soccer by Lisa Wheeler with illustrations by Barry Gott. Attendees will also get to play soccer with the GAHS players, weather permitting. Children, ages 3-6, and their parents or caregivers are encouraged to attend. Storytime at GAHS
