Train Museum

Join the Library at the Grand Opening of the Gallipolis Railroad Freight Station Museum on Saturday, April 30 from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

The Library will be offering giveways for kids consisting of train plushies for the younger kids and railroad engineer hats for the older kids (while supplies last), a train craft (10:00 AM to 4:30 PM), and 3 Storytimes with Ms. Kim or Ms. Rachael (11:15 PM, 2:15 PM, and 3:15 PM).

The opening ceremony will last from 10:00 AM to 10:45 AM and will include the raising of the flag, the singing of The Star-Spangled Banner, opening remarks and acknowledgments, and the ribbon cutting.

After the opening, the Museum invites everyone to visit the model train and railroad memorabilia displays inside the museum and the cars and train engine in the Railroad Yard. Everyone is invited to take selfies on the engine and train cars.

On the Museum grounds, make sure to view the traveling model railroad display, a 1930's fire truck used in Gallipolis, and some Model A cars.

Throughout the day, try out a temporary railroad tattoo, enter a drawing for 4 sets of tickets to ride the Hocking Valley Railroad, and play a game of free miniature golf.
