Silver Bridge Disaster Author to Speak

Please join author Dr. Michael F. Price on Friday, November 4, 2022 at 6 PM for a talk/discussion on his book, 17 Days that Changed America: How the Silver Bridge Collapse Made Life Safer For All of Us.

17 Days That Changed America traces the life of the Silver Bridge from its dedication in 1928 to the dedication of the new bridge four decades later. It also presents the hour-by-hour, day-by-day actions of local, state, and national leaders in not only recovering the victims of the deadliest bridge disaster in American history, but also in their efforts to understand what went wrong and what steps were needed to make sure this type of disaster did not happen again.

Born and raised in West Virginia, Dr. Price holds degrees from West Liberty University (WV), West Virginia University, Brite Divinity School (Texas Christian University), and The George Washington University. He has been an ordained minister in the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) for over 30 years and has served churches in Louisiana, Virginia, North Carolina, and Florida. Dr. Price makes his home in Florida.
