Kids, tweens, and teens stop by the Library starting Tuesday, June 1 to sign-up for this year's Summer Reading Program "Tails and Tales".
Go on a Summer Reading Safari this year with your very own Create-a-Critter safari animal.
On the day you register, you will receive a Create-a-Critter safari animal (while supplies last). Over the summer, take your critter on adventures: go on vacation together, watch one of the virtual summer reading programs together, attend a summer reading program with your critter, read to your critter for 20 minutes each day, etc. A list of ideas that you and your critter can do together will be available at registration. Feel free to post your adventures on Facebook (and tag the Library) or send photos of your adventures to Ms. Rachael (rbarker@bossardlibrary.org) or Ms. Kim (kwilcoxon@bossardlibrary.org).
Throughout the summer, kids, tweens, and teens can read books to win brag tags and earn tickets for a chance at one of several mystery grand prizes. Tweens and teens will earn tickets for a chance to win their own age-appropriate mystery grand prizes. The last day to pick up brag tags and drop off tickets for the grand prizes will be August 31.
For every three books that a child (ages 2-7) reads, they will win a brag tag and one ticket for the drawing. A maximum of 10 brag tags and 10 tickets can be earned.
For every one book that a tween (ages 8-12) or teen (ages 13-18) reads, they will win a brag tag and one ticket for the drawing. A maximum of 10 brag tags and 10 tickets can be earned.
Only books and audiobooks borrowed from Bossard Library will count towards each participant's total number of books read. E-books and digital audiobooks borrowed from the Ohio Digital Library (using the Libby app or Overdrive app) and Hoopla are also eligible to be counted in the Summer Reading Program.
The Library will be offering a mixture of virtual and in-person Summer Reading programming over the course of the summer. Please check our website and Facebook page for times and dates of programs.
Page Turner Adventures, an interactive virtual Summer Reading experience, is back this year with eight weeks of exciting animal adventures. Videos will be posted on our website from the Page Turner Adventures webpage starting June 7.
We encourage our teens to follow Bossard Library's teen Instagram page: @bossardlibraryteens.
